The Mirror It Makes (2006)
Laura’s first film, The Mirror It Makes deals with issues of isolation and loss on the land. A father and a daughter struggle to come to terms with the tragic loss of their family member and continue to relive the day of her drowning.
This short film was made for an Extension Two English project. It placed first in the film category across New South Wales with a perfect score of 100%. It was then included in the Young Writer’s Showcase, a book and DVD released annually by the Board of Studies.
Much of the filming took place on Hickory Hill.
