Australia and the European Union in Conversation (2012)

This year Australia celebrates a healthy fifty-year relationship with the European Union. The milestone highlights many questions relating to the current climate in the European Union and the EU’s ongoing relevancy in Australia. Monthly conversations between EU ambassadors, distinguished guests in research and politics are held at the Centre for European Studies at the ANU.

Laura’s work as a Visiting Fellow involves a short documentary, capturing all aspects of the events from the ambassadors conversing on the latest issues to audience members having their say during question time.

The event is frequently mediated by Paul Barclay of Radio National’s Big Ideas Program and podcast online at http://www.abc.net.au/radionational/programs/bigideas/features/eu-series/. The conversation is also filmed by Sky News for broadcast.
